I would to like to mention that our Rules and Regulations regarding payment of your bill has changed effective January 1, 2016. The New policy specifically states that your water bill must be paid within 45 days of invoicing to avoid termination of service. I encourage you to read the back of your water bills, where the new policy is located. We have made the changes in order to improve cash flow to the Department. Please call our office if you have any questions regarding that change.
I would like to inform our rate payers as well as all the residents of South Hadley that we have successfully bid and awarded a contractor for our Newton St. watermain project. This project has been 3 years in the planning. We were extremely fortunate to get a 0% loan from the Massachusetts Water Resource Authority. We are also thankful to the Massachusetts Department of Transportation for their cooperation in holding off resurfacing that road until our project was completed.
The replacement will span from Gerry's music shop to Camden St. for a distance of approx. 5000 ft. The contractor will be starting the first or second week of April and will take approximately 4 months to complete. Due to the fact that Newton St. is a state highway with a lot of traffic, I kindly ask for the public's patience during the construction period and if there are any questions during the replacement project, please don't hesitate to give me a call.
