Message from the Superintendent
I appreciate you taking the time to read about what's been happening within our Department.  Please feel free to give me a call with any questions you may have.

I would to like to mention that you can now pay your water bill via credit card.  Please log on to our website at www.shdistrict1.org and click the blue button on the screen.

Water Infrastructure Nationwide is becoming a real focus. Please take a look at the following article  http://www.waterworld.com/articles/print/volume-33/issue-2/features/rejuvenating-america-s-water.html

Now that we have completed the Newton St. water main project, the Mass DOT has informed us that the road is in design phase for a resurfacing.  The project is expected to be bid out in Novemebr of 2019 and construction in the spring of 2020.

Within the next month, approximately 900 Ft. of 10" Cast Iron main on Gaylord St. will be replaced as part of a Mass Works project the town of South Hadley received.
Looking forward to spring, we are in the design phase of two projects internally.  The first one will be transfrerring water services from an old 4" cast iron main to a 10" cast iron main on Granby Road prior to the work being performed by Mass DOT in 2020.  Secondly, we are going to replace the 6" cast Iron main on Susan Ave. and possibly Cote Blvd. with a new 8" PVC Main.  We thank you in advance for your understanding and cooperation once the projects begin.

The will be a Water Quality forum presented at the South Hadley town hall auditorium on April 27, 2019.  The main topic of the presentation will be lead in drinking water.  We encourage the public to attend and ask any and all questions related to the town's drinking water.

Respectfully,

Jeffrey Cyr
Superintendent
